Deciding if counselling is right for you can be a daunting decision to make. To try and help make this process as easy as possible we have put together some answers to commonly asked questions. Of course this list is not exhaustive and if you have any more questions please ask us. We will do our very best to help you.

What is counselling & psychotherapy?


Psychotherapy is a broad term used to describe talking therapies, including counselling. Both counsellors and psychotherapists provide a service for those looking for support and treatment for a wide range of mental health and emotional issues.




How do i know if counselling or psychotherapy will be helpful?


Only you can decide whether you wish to try counselling or psychotherapy. Just talking to someone confidentially who is not a friend or family member can make all the difference. Counselling or psychotherapy provides a regular time for those in distress to explore their feelings and talk about their problems. A counsellor can help you develop better ways of coping, allowing you to live the life you deserve.




How long does counselling last?


Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are usuually weekly although this can vary depending on individual needs. The number of sessions can vary between individuals and is dependant on what you would like to work on.




How do i pay for counselling?


Face to face counselling sessions should be paid for at the end of each session. This will be discussed in your first session. Sessions can be paid by cash or card. Telephone or on-line counselling sessions should be paid in advance on booking of the session. Sessions can be paid for via paypal or BACS and details will be provided in our first converstaion. There is also the option to book a block of sessions, block bookings of 6 sessions or more will recive a 10% discount.




Can i have counselling on-line or by telephone?


Yes. We do offer counselling on line via email or by video conferencing or telephone. We use secure encripted platforms to offer this service and keep your details safe. Its important if you choose this as an option of working that you are able to comit to work in a safe confidential space where you wont be interupted or disturbed.
